We rehearse on Monday nights, either in St James' Church, Shaftesbury or in Shaftesbury Town Hall.  Each term we have 8 or 9 rehearsals, with a concert at the end of the term in St James' Church (Click here for directions). 

We take our music-making seriously but pride ourselves on being friendly & welcoming. We enjoy the social aspect of meeting as a group of musicians and socialise over coffee or tea at each rehearsal and often at a local hostelry afterwards!

We are always pleased to hear from potential new members, whether young and developing musicians, adult restarters or experienced players. Our ranks include a wide range of experience from those resuming or extending their playing to ex professionals.

Membership is open to anyone who feels confident playing the repertoire to a good standard. Do look at our Upcoming Concerts, Past Concerts and Repertoire pages to get an idea of the style and level of music that we play. Members are asked to pay a termly subscription to cover expenses.

We are happy to advise interested, prospective members who are unsure as to their suitability. You will always be welcome to come and try a rehearsal or two.

We currently have vacancies for violin & viola and french horn. We would also love to hear from tuba players & harpists.

However, personnel does shift, so we'd love to hear from you whatever instrument you play!
